If your mind rules over your heart it means that you can use logic and reason to control your actions and not be ruled by your emotions.
Like someone who is in love but in an abusive relationship, one who's mind rules over one's heart will be able to leave that relationship despite their deep feelings.

No metaphysical problem is more vigorously discussed by the present day
psychologists than that of mind and body. Most of us assume that all
thinking takes place in the brain. It is only since a few decades that
psychologists are treating body and mind as a single unit called
psycho-somatic system. This led to the development of new subjects like
Psycho-biology and Psycho-neuro-immunology. Modern medicine has
recognized the brain-spine system as a single unit, but it does not
assign thinking functions to any part of the spine. It is now known that
even when a considerable amount of brain is removed through surgery, a
person can still have reasonable mental abilities and can lead a near
normal life. Modern research found that one region in brain can perform
several tasks and so can compensate for the loss of damage of another
region. On the contrary, surgical removal of some 'safe' parts from womb
of women is known to cause problems of mind like dementia. Then, what
are the components of mind and where are they located?
Indians put their hand on the chest when they say "I am saying this from
the depths of my Manas". Manas (rational mind) is a common word used in
India, and no one shows his head when he uses that word. The Europeans
have an esoteric tradition that mind exists independently of the
physical brain, and thoughts become known to a person through the brain
[1]. During the 1970s, neurologists became increasingly dissatisfied
with the epiphenomenalism [2] theories of mind and brain. More
scientists came to suspect that mind and brain were different in a kind
and could interact.

When I think of this I think of relationships.
In your mind, you may think that this relationship is not good for you in different ways.
But in your heart, you love that person.
I believe that if you let your mind win over your heart, you'll always be missing something in your life.
If you let your heart win over your mind, then you will find happiness.
Always listen to your heart.
Your mind can be thinking logically, but happiness is where you heart is ;)
If it's not in your heart, then that's when you listen to your mind.
My Father told me this once, and I have never forgotten it.
In my younger years, I listened to my mind.
Trying to find a husband that could support me, take care of me, give me the things I want.
Well I did find that. But I was never truly happy. My heart just wasn't in it.
That marriage ended.
Then came along a rough, tough, bad boy. My head kept telling me to stay away from him.
I didn't want any man in my life at this point, just recently divorced.
So I listened to my head, many times. Decided I was just going to stay away from him, avoid him.
Well guess what....it didn't work.
God kept putting us together. Just as I was getting over him, I would run into him. And there went my heart.
My Dad has been gone for many years: But as I was talking to my Mom about this situation, I remembered what my Dad said "Follow Your Heart, That's Where Happiness".
So I decided that's what I was going to do. I put my heart into it and here I am 8 years later, still with him and he is the love of my life. I have NEVER been happier. Never even realized that I could be this happy.
Happiness Is Where Your Heart Is !!!!! :)

Perhaps good sense rules over emotions?
Example: I discover the man I'm engaged to is gay, I'm in love so I decide to marry him regardless. That's heart ruling over logical thinking. Try the website heartmath.com.

My heart said yes because it made me feel happy and free, my mind said no because he was married with children. It means you have the common sense to know what is right and what is wrong. I love because I have a heart. I am because of the strength of my mind. Thank you for such a wonderful meaningful question! >^^<

Just that your intellect dictates your behaviour, instead of your emotions.
An example is:
A woman living in poverty marrying a rich guy who she doesn't love. Her intellect tells her this is the right thing to do, as it ensures her & her family's survival.
Her heart belongs to the poor guy down the street, who is also dying of starvation.

You can't always give into temptation. There are too many people out there following their hearts into 20 to life, for one.

heart and Head are in conflict! so the palm reader advised me. the guts needs something however the pinnacle needs something else. my fingerprints I definitely have 9 "tented arches" meaning I definitely have a severe point of creativity, yet I definitely have one "oval swirl" on the ring finger of my left hand. meaning relationships would be painful, and girls will cheat on me
