I bought a very nice-looking pair of INC jeans. THe tag says it;s a size 31 on the waist, but I laid it down on top of my partner's Levi's size 32 and surprisingly they fit ! I measured the waistline of the INC jeans and it measured 16 inches. Is this normal? Would the jeans shrink to a waist size 31 once I wash it?

A lot of jeans are sized incorrectly.. Especially for woman so it's best to try on jeans before you buy and even try on several pairs of the same jeans/same style some may be irregular... If you really like the jeans have a tailor take them in for you.. Custom....Good luck

This has been going on in women's fashions for years. Traditionally, men have been able to walk into a store, grab the size they need, and just go. Whereas women have to try everything on. That's because they may require a 12 in a cheap dress, a 10 in a middle-of-the-road dress, or an 8 in a high end dress. Not sure if that's because the high end manufacturers are just more generous with the fabric, or to appeal to one's vanity. If you were a woman, would you rather wear an 8 or a 12? Would you pay more to be able to wear the 8? See what I mean?

We see some of this in men's fashions, too. But not, usually, to the same extent. But it is a possibility.

If you wash and dry your jeans on the hottest settings, they will probably shrink that extra inch. If not, give them to your partner and go buy yourself a 30!

Yes normal, it vary's from manufacture and depends alot on who cut out the pattern that day as they are stacked and can move when cut. I have many jeans that should be the same size but are not....
