My hummingbirds can really eat up the nectar in my feeders. I like to thoroughly clean each feeder before re-filling it. To simplify this process, I make a large batch of h-food (4 to 1 water to sugar) and freeze it in advance. I've found the 32 oz. cottage cheese containers hold the perfect amount for my feeders. When a feeder is low or needs changing, I defrost a container, and clean the feeder thoroughly, then fill it up. Is there anything wrong or harmful about doing it this way? I also like to wait until the water has come to a boil before adding the sugar. Once the water is boiling, I reduce the heat, add the sugar and stir for 3-4 minutes until the water is crystal clear. This prevents boil overs. Again, is this approach OK?

Although I do not freeze mine, the rest of your method is the same as mine. Most sites are against using food coloring but I have done it for years and have bunches of, very alive, birds.

It sounds to me like you are doing a great job of taking care of your hummingbird feeders. I have talked to people who boil their sugar water and I have talked to people who don't, both have good results. If your system works for you and your hummingbirds like what you provide I wouldn't change it.
