no i wasn't kissing the carpet. my 12 year old daughter got some make up and she broke the lipstick and it's all in my white carpet. ..it did sound odd i agree. lol.

with a little water and washing up liquid, rub the liquid in with your finger tips , then use a sponge and warm water . It should come out this way
