The stress of a big change is a big problem. Feed a turtle lightly for about a week. Appetite usually pickes back up after about a week or so.

"Everything is set properly" really does not help us. Everyone thinks evertyhing is set properly. How big is the tank, how big is the turtle, actual temps, etc. would greatly help.

One point- dried shrimp and fish is not really a great diet. Try the ideas at http://www.redearslider.com or http://www.austinsturtlepage.com for more help.

The stress of moving into a new tank is a possibility, but if you want your question answered you'll have to tell me how your tank is set up, where abouts the equipment is placed within the tank, and the temperature of the tank. Tell me this and I will be able to answer your question, as I have a terrapin myself, so I know how to look after them.

Could be that he is cold, what is your temperature set at ? He also might not like the food, daft as it sounds. I bought my 2 Sliders a different type of food to the one they normally have and they wouldn't eat it.

If yours seems generally well in all respects I wouldn't worry too much. Why not log onto austinpageturtle.com. I find that I get loads of good tips about turtles from there!

He might just need time to get his bearings, did I see on the news on the net recently that someone had caught a illness from a terrapin, may be worth you checking it out.

i think your new turtle is nervous. when i first got my turtle it took him a week to eat and realize what i was feeding him wasnt poison. he has no idea what the heck happened. this is a wonderful site where you can see what to feed him, where to keep humidity and heat and basic care and habitat, check it out>>http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/cs-yellowbelly.htm

Well, for starters, you should identify it.
You haven't provided enough info to determine whether you're keeping or feeding it properly.
I think you need to read some books on basic turtle care.

asylum seeker in garage doesn't eat, kill it.
