A nuclear weapon would do the trick.
Of course it would turn much of the iceburg into steam because of the immense heat. But it'd definitely melt.

There are many strategies, some more effective than others. Here are some of my ideas:

1. Tow the iceberg into warmer water, and it will melt on its own. You'd need a LOT of tugboats for a large iceberg.

2. Build a giant magnifying glass in space and focus the Sun's rays onto the iceberg. This presents some obvious challenges.

3. Set of a nuclear weapon (or several) on, in, or around the iceberg. You'll vaporize a good chunk of it, and melt a lot more.

Probably possible, yes. I don't think anyone's ever been bored enough to try, though. You could, probably, with a nice blowtorch and maybe several months of spare time on your hands. An iceberg is just a load of ice, and it's possible to melt ice.

Here's an idea: spend about 150 years burning wood, coal, oil and natural gas for energy all around the world, cut down some forests here and there, thus increasing the CO2 content of the atmosphere and then sit back and let the naturally resultant process of greenhouse-type warming melt the ice for you.

I don't know if this is true or not, but when I was in school, a teacher told us that some countries who do not have much water (desert areas), tow iceburgs in the ocean to get them closer (more toward the equater) and use them for fresh water as they melt. I always wondered if you can afford to do that, why can't you just use a piping system to bring the water in?
