I actually feel like I've lost weight, and in fact do feel quite naked. (Ok so I said it, and if I get a notice 0h well.)

Hmm, no, actually I don't. I actually feel pretty good after a haircut because:
1. I don't have all of that dead hair in my face!
2. My hair is easier to comb through.
3. The ends won't slpit or break once I get my hair cut.

i usually feel unclean and itchy cause some stranger has manhandled my hair, cutting small itchy bits of hair and letting them land down my top.
