HP PAVILLION Laptops?

Question

are the new hp pavillion laptops generally good? did anybody experience any problems with them before? i am looking to buy a new laptop and the pavillion got my interenst, right now i am looking at buying the hp pavillion dv6000 series.

we have a hp,gateway,and sony of the three th hp is last problems with software hardware you name it,i would not buy another one for a dollar

Overall the HP laptops are pretty good. And support is ok on them. I wouldn't say they are the best but i did own one about a year and it was ok. I had a hard drive go out and it took HP almost a month to fix it. So I got mad and make the switch to Apple after having virus issues. And man can Apple make a good computer. They are really freakin fast, safe, virus free, mac is extremely easy to use, Mac is lightweight so you can run more programs, crash proof, and they come installed with almost every program anyone would need. Dude don't make the mistake I did and waiste money on a HP. Buy an Apple they will last you forever!

The Pavilion is a good unit. There are a couple of options in the 6000 that are not available from other makers. Unless you want these items in particular, do some shopping. Check the major retailer web sites and try to go to a couple of stores to check systems..Look at the screens, check the keyboard feel. and check the weight. You will find good buys on several brands, some are not advertised. The top makers are all equipped similar and very competitive in pricing.

To my opinion i don't like them because i have a Dv6000 series and it's giving lots of problem installing hardware and software.
I will give an example I install my printer then after couple weeks again it's not reconginzed i don't know for what reason the thing is that to solve the problem i have t do recovery reinstall everthing just like it came from HP.And i did that like 5 times before. Fed up!!!

HP is the top seller of LTs in the world. They offer great value and choices. The DV 6000 is a very good mainstream LT selling at discount prices because of the newer DV6500 model which is only slightly different.

If you end up needing to talk to customer service, you will be speaking to someone in India who can't speak english to save his life.
If you have to get warranty work, you'll have to locate one of these special "coffins" ( a special shipping box) and pay 50 dollars to ship it out, even though it's under warranty. There are no shops who are authorized to work on HPs, so you're automatically spending a lot of money to fix a computer.
Maybe all companies are like that nowadays though.
But, I will certainly never buy an HP again.

HP's are great simple computers. The run great and they are durable i had my dv9000 fall down a stair case without its case and it survived and i am answering your question from that computer hahaha. I am getting a dv6500 and they look great i recomend that one. If you can get the special edition dv6500t. They have one of the best sites to customize your laptop. Hope it helps :)
