i agree with you. i can't really forgive people. i say it, then all the memories come back and i hate them again. sometimes it works, but not for me.

Yes, forgiveness does exist. How do I know? Because I have forgiven many people, of many things, in my life.
Forgiving and forgetting are two different things, however. To forgive is to no longer hold animosity and bitter feelings toward another, to not keep pointing the finger of blame toward them, and to not bring up the past.
To forget is something entirely different. For one thing, to forget would be to truly have no memory of what was done to you that brought on the anger in the first place. Although there are some times that I have also forgotten past transgressions of the people that I have forgiven, that does not always hold true. In some instances it is unwise to forget, even if you forgive. Those are the times when although a person can be forgiven, it is best to remember what happened so that you don't get "burned" again.
Have you ever heard the expression "Once burned, twice shy"?
I may be wrong, but IMHO the only one who can truly forgive AND forget every time is God.

The first thing you have to ask yourself is. Did the offense really exist in the first place? If yes then forgiveness is very difficult. However many times people are offended where no offense is justified.
If someone intentionally does me harm then I will never forgive them. If they did so by accident then it is possible depending on if the accident was due to ineptness or carelessness. I can forgive ineptness, I will not forgive carelessness.

Forgiveness is a root off of acceptance.
Acceptance must be obtained in order
to allow forgiveness to exist.
Remembrance of the situation is
completely in your control.
Either forget and go on or let it take
control.
To Grudge or not to Grudge,
that is your choice.
I am a believer of total forgiveness.
The harder the situation the
truer the test.
Time is the bandage.
Prayer can be the salve.
Works for me !!
Peace !!

So far, I've been able to forgive everyone who's crossed me:
*Ex wives (two of them, sorry ...)
**What the last one did to our babies (i.e., neglect, bad mouthing me, etc.).
*My last (ex)wife's relatives:
**Rumor-spreading (that I beat my wife, that I was a child molester [especially tough to reconcile, given the fact that I'm a school teacher], etc.).
**Destroying my law school graduation celebration.
***Insisting that we celebrate at my home, and then dumping their children off at my place and leaving.
**Interfering in my now defunct marriage.
*My coworkers in the school where I teach:
**That I was incompetent
***I've been nationally recognized three times for teaching.
***My students regularly outperformed the other students in my subject area in statewide mandated testing.
**Badmouthing me in front of the students.
***Kinda' made the kids support me all the more.
*While it's true that I'll never forget these transgressions, I hold no animosity towards these people, because, as Jesus said, "..I have already forgiven them...". I guess if He can do it, I should at least do my best to do so, too.
*I will never trust these people, again, however, and I will ALWAYS watch my back whenever I find myself in their company, again.

Depends on how bad they wronged you. For the most part forgiveness is not a part of my vocabulary...but I am working on it.

You human beings have being doing such issues over the millennia and nonetheless are doing it. it extremely is not significant to you once you're making females widows, kill their babies, rape their daughters no longer even sparing the elderly and handicapped.
