you are probably right but when you retire from tennis, and you have played for a long time. You probably start to miss the competition and excitment from the sport. Maybe thats why so many tennis pros come back to play again.

I think Lindsay was a great player and after playing the game for so long to just get up and walk away doesn't always last. Hingis, Jennifer Capriati, even Stefi tried or wanted to come back. It's a way of life for these people. She has a baby and I am thinking she realizes she misses the game. This happens in any sport. It's not about money but for the love of the game. The friends you had and traveled with. The fun cities one play in. I think she will come back and play well and enjoy the game again. Look at Martina Nav, she played until she was 47 years old.

She never actully said that she was completly done with tennis. She just implied it with this statement "I hate the word 'retirement' but this season was such a struggle physically for me and I can't imagine playing again," Davenport told ESPN.com (www.espn.com). It isn't wrong of her to play WTT and realize what she was missing during her layoff. Look, she isn't playing full time or trying to be the world number 1, she just wants to come back and play a couple of matches and try to be in the Olympics next year. Her comeback isn't about the money.

I believe that Lindsay won't be returning to USPTA just yet (if ever) but, instead, to World Team Tennis (where Pete Sampras plays). Martina Hingis also played in this league before her comeback. I think she's also mulling over competing in the next Olympics (to vie for another gold).

Lindsay, most likely, misses the competition. It must be difficult to walk away from any sport that you've played for most of your life. (In the video, she is gung ho on being a mom. However, as many realize after becoming a parent, you don't have to abandon your identify -- there can be a happy medium.) Either way, it's nice to see her doing well and itching for more tennis!

Yes, she will be back on tennis court soon. Any true athlete who
has spent their careers, it will be very hard for any such thoughts
of retirement, unless they have other things that keep them
occupied. When there is nothing, generally they try to get
involved in the same sport and want to give another shot.
Very few(none) such athletes have conquered the game like
they were before. In tennis, we have many who tried to make a
comeback.....Hingis, Seles....but both were not the same....

She is ugly then she went to a plastic surgeon to have her nose fix, she look a little bit better but not by much cause the plastic surgeon can't do magic...As a tennis player she can hit the ball harder than most women players because she is a foot taller and about 50 lbs heavier but she move like a snail...

the money always brings them back// she sees the williams winning and figures if those fools can do it than the women's side must be weak now why not come back make some quick bucks than blow out again.. you have to remember you can make pretty decent money just getting into semi or quarter finals without finishing..like bartoli against venus.. she should have beaten venus but why kill yourself 2nd place is not so bad money wise and henin bailed out even sooner,, that whole prize system needs to be redone///
