im not racist or anything but if a white person says something to a black person about theyr skin theyre racist but if a black person says like cracker or somethin like that theyr not racists it annoys the hell out of me
why is it not considered racist?

It's only racist if anyone says something racist about black or white people. Usually when whites see one or two incidents, they go "why do black people do this or that". You know, they stereotype us all, as if we all think and do the same things.

Jesus..you are the one-mllionth person to ask this very question on Yahoo answers and may I ask why do have such a fascination with calling Black people the N-word. Why can't you just leave them alone. As for the White people being called crackers, it's not really an insult as Whites have always been the dominant majority in the US and UK. As for the Blacks, the N-word symbolized slavery, segegation and years of discrimination which have created an identity crisis for them. Though many try to look beyond it, it is advisable to not use those words before Blacks.
As an example, do you think it's the right idea to call a German person Nazi today? Even in the heat of an argument or confrontation? I am sure you'd be careful not to revive those associations for him as he would want nothing to do with Hitler. In the same vein, calling a Black man the N-word brings up bad memories and can spoil the general mood.
As for crackers like you, it really doesn't mean anything bad.

The term racist derived from the darker gentlefolk of yester year. It is a term they 'thought up' as an answer to keep old skinny pants quiet..at least for as long as the game was on.
The terms are used to call one dark person to the other dark person - white folk found it amusing and stole their words and tried to use them but got a copyright infringment and therefore imprisonment for calling on the wrong type.
Folk should get along together - they cannot - they will continue to think up such utter nonsense in order to be-little the other whatever race, creed or color...humans are no good with each other - they prefer to fight and dig holes for themselves and pollute the earth with their B.O.
Man wonder how long it is going to take to put a Chinese on the Marsian soil - though what would happen if a Native American or African did the same thing?
People are dumb when it comes to progress - no one is better than the other we all have to get along in order to make a difference.

I asked my black sociology professor about this. He said black people cannot be racist because being a racist implies that you have some inherent power due to your racial heritage that can be used against others. If you don't have this inherent power, you can't be a racist, only prejudiced. That's the theory anyway.

because white people think their being intimidating, amusing and funny when they say something out of the blue like that about black people. black people are only stating the obvious in return. so as long as white people stop thinking its their hereditary right to down other races, they won't get accused in return. this is a broad response anyway. obviously, yes, not all white people are racist. and not all black people are lazy mind-f*ckers.

Maybe white people are not as troubled by what is said about the colour of their skin as much as the black person.

Because a lot of people are stupid, & think that only White people can be racist.That's why when a minority is racist against White people it's called "reverse" racism.

i completely agree with you, im not racist either, but it does seem a bit unfair though. but thats just how this society is. and i mean, i understand, because black people did go through slavery by the white people, but at the same time, it feels like Martin Luther King Jr's fight for civil rights was in vain in a way because now black people are treating white people just as bad. MLK always tried to put out there that black people were good people but, we dont see that now-a-days, they go around intimidating everyone, being violent, im sure thats not wat MLK wanted for his people.
