The Black-capped Chickadee is the species where I live. This bird hangs with Woodpeckers.
Not only does this small bird like peanut butter, these are also part of the menu: suet, black oil sunflower seeds, native fruits, various small seeds in commercial mixtures, and insects.
We have Chickadees/Woodpeckers at the feeders year round because I keep suet/peanut butter and combination of black oil/striped sunflower seeds available.
This is all I feed in the summer.
The songbirds eat seeds and nectar out of my gardens.
