I already have a firegl v7350 and I am looking to build a computer around it. I am learning autodesk maya 8.5. This computer would be mostly for 3d modeling and rendering. Autodesk suggests quadro based rather than geforce based chipsets, but I am still confused should I go with something with a the nvidia nforce chipset or stick with something like the intel P35 motherboard.

The chipset on the motherboard has nothing to do with Quadro or GeForce, those terms only apply to graphics cards. Either of those chipsets will work with your graphics card.
