We need more voices over the airwaves. Allowing media monopolies keeping control of what goes over the airwaves is NOT in the interest of the people.

We need stronger anti-trust laws in the FCC so that we can hear many voices, not just the voice of a few.

That is why they are able to shut out any third party, and able to limit debates to the so called "top tier" candidates.

The public owns the airwaves, but the public does not control the airwaves. In both the legal and colloquial sense, they are held "in trust" by the govt, so the govt makes the decisions on what happens. In the US, that's the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

They mandate how often radio stations must identify themselves, what percentage content of advertising is allowed, and dozens of other broad categories.

So, if you don't like the content on your radio station, find out if they've violated FCC regs. If not, pick a different station.

The air waves are not owned by the public. They are controlled by the government. Ever heard of the FCC?

Now, we can take control but it will require a lot of civil disobedience. It's easy and cheap to set up a radio transmitter in your home. If enough people do it, we can take back control.

Wouldn't be pushing the so called "fairness doctrine" would you ?Like the man said if you don't like what your hearing change stations , I do it all the time .And we don't need more laws because of some parties conceived idea that they are being shunned, it's more likely people don't want to hear their brand of BS.

Ads are what pay a station owner money to be able to operate. What part of "Economics 101" do you not understand?
