and how do I convert actual measurements? I want to make a Model Railway and want to make a model of my house and local church

Double-0 scale model railways were launched in 1921 as 'The Table Railway', 00 gauge uses the same track gauge as H0 gauge (3.5 mm to the foot, 1:87). However, the large propulsion mechanisms could not fit into the small British prototypes, so the scale was enlarged to 4 mm to the foot without altering the gauge. 4MM to the Foot translates to a ratio of 1 : 76.2 (this means a 76.2 foot wall in real life = one foot in OO gauge scale)... GAWD I wish the USA had converted to metric!!

Interesting... I had not HEARD of OO gauge before. I'm an HO club and N-scale home modeller, turns out it's an English thing ;)
