A good assumption (based on historical evidence) is that apple will come out with a new iPod in September--they've done so each of the last several years. You could also assume that they won't decrease the capacity. Also, with the introduction of the iPhone I'd bet we'll see an iPod with the same screen (but without the phone and internet features).

So--I'd say wait another month and a half, just to be sure. I'd be willing to bet that apple will announce an 80/30 Gb (at least) iPod with multi-touch screen in September--almost August now, might as well wait.

as far as i m concerned i never know when a new one would be out and would definetly take long time and would be sotly
and it is advisible to go and buy now but do u really need 80 Gb as in place where i live i find a lot heavy price diffrence betwen the 30 and 80 GB u can synchronise with PC now and then and watch the movies means go in for the 30 GB version but if price diffrence is small in ur region then choose 80Gb
however if u r particluar of 80 GB u can go ahead with it

i suggest you buy it, because it is gonna be from 2 to 4 mounth for a new 1 out. so buy it
