I work for the Westin hotel. For the last month I have been trying to obtain a transfer from the Westin here in Virginia to the Westin in California. So I applied to several ones in Cali(Westin's) but I can never get in contact with their Human resources department. I left messages and everything. And I want to move by August mind you and it now July 22.

All the while my hotel already knows and approves of the transfer. So I decided to go to my own Human Resources department for help on the transfer and see if they can call. I was told no because it against the rules and have to wait for them to call me. Now my question is, how would something like this be against the rules and shouldn't my human resources be actually helping me in some form?

You have encountered bureaucrats, both in your own hotel and in the hotels you have contacted in California. At least they could tell you how long you must wait for an answer, but they don't care.

Why don't you bypass the paper pushers and go right to the hotel managers in California.

Also, I'd contact corporate headquarters and request a clarification on hotel policies on the transfer of employees between hotels.
