1. How do you know you have a boy and a girl? Did you already know that you cannot reliably sex them until they are about 4" long or about 4 years old?

2. Breeding Red-ear Sliders is tough in the average home set-up, unless it is done in a large outdoor pond-oudoors and then it happens with very little care needed from you.

3. Pregnant females need no special attention- just good housing and diet.

4. When the pregnant female is ready to look for nesting sites- you have a problem. In indoor set-ups, it is hard to make a good beach for them. If you have a special Waterland Tub you can do it, but otherwise it is really hard.

You can try using a kids wading pool filled with water for the pool part, and place a large tub of mulch, sand, and loam in the middle of the pool with easy to climb ramps so the female can get in and out easily.s are often infertile. It usually take a couple years of 'practice' to get good eggs.

Any eggs laid in the water or on the soil will be infertile- and the first few nesting

5. Egg care- carefully move the eggs to a box or incubator that allows the eggs to stay stationary, humid, and warm (about 82F) for 2-3 months.

You can learn more about this at http://www.redearslider.com or http://www.austinsturtlepage.com

Note, however, that both places have the same warning- do NOT breed this far-too-common turtle unless you already have homes for the babies. Released Red-ears are messing up native turtle habitats around the world!

There are other species that breed easier, are easier to sell, and make better pets- although no one makes any real money selling baby turtles from home.

I would just leave the eggs in there make sure the water is warm though and when the female is pregnant she should be separated from the male and eat more so she can have plenty food for her baby(s) and lay eggs alone

I'm assuming by your post that you have not bred them yet, but are considering it. Females are considered mature enough to breed at around 5 years old. Eggs are laid on land, not water and the female should be seperated from the male during her pregnancy to avoid stress. To find out more about breeding and gestation, I suggest you read this informative site for more info.
