In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows what basically happens is: Harry, Hermoine, and Ron have been kicked out of Hogwarts because the Ministry of magic has been controlled by Voldemort. Dumbledore has died, and leaves the kids each something special. For Ron, a magical potion that has the ability to doust every light in a room. For Hermione, a book of children's stories, and for Harry, the first Snitch he ever cought, and Godric Griffindor's sword. However, when the Minister of Magic delivers these gifts, he witholds the sword, claiming that it was not Dumdledore's to give away. They constantly have to hide from Voldemort and the Death Eaters and narrowly escape death many times. They have to find and destroy all of Voldemort's horcrux's in order to kill him. Harry finds out that he is the last horcrux, and sacrifices himself so that Vodemort can be killed. however, Voldemort tries to kill Harry with something called the elder wand, and it backfires on him. Harry is seemingly dead, and Voldemort perishes by the Elder wand's power. Harry wakes up, and is ok. Other things happen in the book, like Harry and Ron's argument, and certain betrayals, but this is the basic plot. At the end in the year 2017, 19 years after Voldemort's death, Harry and Ginny Weasley have 3 kids named Albus Severus, James, and Lily (Albus was Dumbledore's first name, and Severus was Snape's first name. James and Lily were Harry's parents' names). Ron and Hermione have 2 kids named Rose and Hugo, Malfoy has a son named Scorpius. They all meet at King's Cross, where they're all sending their children on the Hogwarts train. Neville becomes the Herbology professor at Hogwarts. Harry's scar hadn't hurt since the death of Voldemort.
Hope this helps!!!

Okay. Harry doesn't die, and there's a lovely epilogue that lets you know what becomes of many of the characters we've grown to know over the past ten years.

This book it honestly and truly worth reading, all of the books are. But this one is the best. All that I'll say is that there's an Epilogue. That's all. But you HAVE to read it.

Without posting any spoilers, the site below will tell you everything you could possibly want to know - who lives, who dies, who marries who! (Not that I'm saying anyone dies or marries!)
