aside from the obvious, I've just had a great time watching and listening to my wife laugh her socks off at the Doris Day film "Move Over Darling" and considering how hard things have been for her in the last while It's the best 2hrs I spent for I cant remember how long. So what gives you pleasure like that.?

That is so sweet. It's really nice to hear someone gaining pleasure out of seeing a loved one laughing.

Sorry but I think I have forgotten how to smile. Maybe sometime in the future I may be able to give you a better answer.

Seeing people I love laugh and be happy is always the best thing, seeing my beautiful dog walk and sniff and be interested in things makes me smile as at Christmas she couldn't walk and screamed the whole time in pain from arthritis (and is better now through treatment) makes me smile. Seeing students that I have known since they were 11 grown up and mature and behaving as if they never had any problems makes me smile (watching some of my favourite students leave this year as nineteen year olds when I remember them as naughty and difficult children is such a great feeling).

The notion of Rock Hudson and Doris Day getting together outside the movie set... that would have been a riot.

Did you know her real name is: Doris Mary Ann von Kappelhoff, and she's doing pretty well? Here's a neat article about her:

Oh, and this usually cracks me up pretty well:

Good for you, Jim. That's really sweet. I have a 17 year old 9 inch high terrier, who does a lap of honour around the house in the mornings. Hearing her little feet pounding on the floorboards makes me smile every time. She is still full of the joys even at her age.

do you know its a very similar thing my husband has had a rough time lately ( i had to have a major operation and he thought he would lose me). he became very subdued then my long lost brother turned up and told us some wonderfully funny stories of his travels and i watched my husbands face relax with all the laughing we both done. i am well now and life is good so it shows what a wonderful tonic laughter can be.

Driving my classic car on a deserted country road with clear blue skies! Smiling does occur sometimes with me, my avatar is not how I'am all the time!

Definitely seeing my little girl having a good time - best feeling in the world. I also like making my husband laugh, I really enjoy knowing that I've made him happy.
