"Fast food" to me implies standing at a cash register while placing my order and then paying for it before being served.

Sitting at a table and having a server come for the order and then serving it, in my opinion, disqualifies the restaurant as "fast food." Some places are borderline...Steak and Shake, Culver's and others but Denny's, and Perkin's may serve food quickly but aren't "fast food."

I've never heard of Perkin's, but I wouldn't think of it as fast food. To me fast food is more on the lines of McDonalds, Jack In the Box, Buger King, Subway...etc.

No, they sure don't. Fast food is like mcdonalds, taco bell, subway, sonic. Denny's and Perkin's is considered a sit-down restaurant.

No. Because you're getting table service from a server. And trust me, both are incredibly "slow" food if you get my drift. One trip could take an hour and a half or more. That's not fast.

No, because they make cook to food to order unlike BK or Mcdonalds where it's already pre-maid.
