my fianee and i are going to vegas in november to get married so that will also be our honeymoon. I am looking for a romantic place to stay without spendng an arm and a leg. I looked at the excalibur because of the price but it got bad reviews and said its more of a family place (i.e. kids all over).if someone can recommend a nice clean, fun place that is at a good location and good for couples that would be great

I would look into either one of these properties, check out the dates that you are going to be coming in. These are both off the strip area, Alexis park ( hotel only ) I would book the Crown loft villa, its a 2 level room and has a jacuzzi. It would elimenate the excess children and would be more romantic.
Tuscany is a hotel and casino. Very romantic. Rates are going to be comparable to Excalibur but offer more room and more of a romantic feel to it. Alexis, Tuscany and Excalibur are all rated as 3 star properties.

Or in the downtown area is the Golden Nugget, the only 4 star property in the area. They have put in millions of dollars in property upgrades, new pool w/ shark tank, new lobby, restruants, and by the time you come in, in November they should have their night club open and the rooms refurbished.

Once you book your room, get the fax number for the front desk and the name of the Front desk manager, fax over a request, let them know that it is your honeymoon, and your first trip to Las Vegas nicely ask for something special like a bottle of champagne in the room and you might get an upgrade or better. Its worth the little bit of effort.

Im not sure when it is you are planning on coming to Las Vegas, right at the end of Oct to the first 2 days of Nov is a very large convention 130,000-140,000ppl and the week of 11/12-11/15 there are 2 large conventions with a total of aprox 55,000-60,000 ppl in town. Also the holiday weekend has the cost go up a bit. I would schedule around this time if possible. It will keep the cost of the rooms down.
I hope this information helps. Have wonderful time in Las Vegas! Best of luck on your wedding! Congratulations.

The Bellagio and Venetian are both very nice and romantic hotels. Both are some of the more high-end resorts on the strips. The Wynn is very pricey, but there are no kids allowed there.

Caesar's is also really nice, and it's a bit less than those 3.

All of them have a pretty good location toward the center of the strip.

If you can afford it, Belligao, Venetian, and Wynn would very nice for your honeymoon. All are very ritzy and luxurious. You could maybe stay off the strip at the Green Valley Ranch or Red Rock Casino. Both I hear are very nice hotels..
