It's Lizzie Borden.
Lizzie Borden took an ax
and gave her mother forty whacks
when she saw what she had done
she gave her father forty-one
Historical note: she was acquitted. There's about as much evidence (i.e., very little for either) that the family's maid was the actual culprit.

The two above were correct, but as a side note: In 1975 there was a TV movie with Elizabeth Montgomery as Lizzie Borden (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073273/) written as if she did do it, and how it was pulled off. Pure fiction, and kind of freaky graffic, but an interesting look at what could have been.

To the answerer who wrote "Lizzie Lorden" kissed the boys and made them cry... that's "Georgie Porgie Pudding Pie, kissed the girls and made them cry"..... The asker didn't mean Lorden, they made a mistake, just like you...

It goes like this:
Lizzie Lorden, pudding and pie,
kissed the boys and made them cry.
When the girls came out to play,
Lizzie Lorden ran away.
Hope that helps!

please learn how to spell the person's name properly before you go and start asking questions about them. if you want to actually go to the house they do tours and it has been turned into an Inn in Salem, Massachusetts. Its actually a really awesome place to visit, my godmother has a shop on Pickering Wharf. You should really try to visit Salem sometime and then maybe you'd know more and not have to ask questions like this one.
