Look at examples of other people's handwriting that you want your handwriting to look like. No, it doesn't have to copy but doing this gives you ideas of how to make your handwriting look like, if you want to take various ideas and make them into your own unique handwriting!

If you mean you want to improve the neatness, I suggest you practice writing letters and words slowly, making sure that it looks a lot more legible.

Tips for improving your handwriting

You’ve decided you want to improve your handwriting and you’re probably hoping a fountain pen will do the trick -- maybe a friend told you it would.

A fountain pen may make your writing look a bit better, but if your writing looks as if frenzied chickens got loose on the page, chances are this won’t be enough.

People who inevitably have trouble with handwriting and calligraphy write with their fingers. They "draw" the letters. A finger-writer puts the full weight of his/her hand on the paper, his fingers form the letters, and he picks his hand up repeatedly to move it across the paper as he writes.

For handwriting, the pen position is less important than for calligraphy.

There used to be some exercisebooks to improve your English handwriting, but I do not know whether these are still available. A good writing instrument, and a strong will are another requirement.

When I was little, my Dad got me lots of work books to to practice on. That's how my writing improved. And after a while, I just got so addicted to them and obsessed with keep on improving my style, I kept buying more and more and filling them out. I suggest you also buy some work books and practice. It does take time and effort but then again no pain, no gain:)

Practice writing by using wrist and arm motion, with the arm and wrist floating above the table or desk, instead of using just the fingers while resting the palm on the desk or table.
Do some angled lines up and down across the page, /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/, and some "O's", OOOOOOO, with wrist motion.
