The problem with reality is how do we determine when reality started? The big bang is all very well but even if you accept that creation started this way
only our minds are caperble of questioning whether
there was a space for us to occupy. Only our minds question if there was a creator, so. is it possible that reality is linked to our thoughts? and not in a three dimensional form that we actualy see with our eyes(after all someone born blind at birth does not see the realities we see but actually knows the reality we think we see exists because he/she is able to relate to responce's in our own minds). Yeah I know it,s a knafe question, sorry hope you can see what I am getting at.(to do that you will have to interpret my mind and that is another point, because if you can see this question your eyes are open.

Reality started for me and for you when we became old enough to feel emotion and pain. The one thing that stands out in my memory of very early childhood is the awe I felt when when I first saw a Christmas tree all lit up, everything was so bright and sharp. As humans evolved and probed into the mysteries of the world the curiosity of some brilliant people led to discoveries of why certain things happened and why they happened, suppositions were put to the test and found to be true, the accumulation of knowledge quickly grew, leading to more and more answers. I think I know what you are trying to say. We have to compare the bible's version, which was written by people with no knowledge of the way the universe works, they did the best they could but they got it all wrong. people of science garnered the information that led to the developement of every modern convience that exists today, that is reality. My eyes are open and my thought process is no better than yours, but I chose to believe in fact, you don't, and you are very confused as a result.

It's a good discussion point and this is just my thoughts,
Reality by definition (the real world) must only be one true thing surely,
however, the reality we create in our minds must be infinite. How I view the world in regards to you is not only possibly different, but likely to be different and to take this a step on, how do I know this reality I hold to is not a complete fabrication I have made in my mind, when in truth I am somewhere and something completely differant. Each of us in our own 'reality' living seperate lives, all we come into contact with a figment of our imagination.
What I would come back to is that while questionning this is healthy, it is unlikely to be resolved or unlock any secret doors. So if this is a reality built from my imagination, I hope I've built it well and it turns out to be a good one (and I bump into Shakira somewhere along the line!)

Perception is reality but I would not say that I 'believe' in reality but I would venture to guess that you don't 'believe' in it either rather prescribe to the notion that there is a high probability that the tangible world in that we all live exists beyond perception, beyond ourselves, and will certainly be beyond our existence. So to your notion of living for today rather then getting bogged down with how we as a specie actually arrived to this point is equivalent to placing voluntary blinders on to a question that may not ultimately be answered. I wish I could. The big bang in most cases sounds just as probable as creation just explained with randomness instead of a divine thought behind it. Only the big-bang fails in one aspect which is to tell me what existed prior to it. Where in our current reality does life come from no-life. This logic upon which we understand cripples me as it begs for an answer.

No reality isnt related to our thoughts. That means your reality is different to mine simply because you perceive it to be so. I believe there is an absolute reality & we exist in that reality. I think there is only one truth.
True, if we have mental problems we could live in a different world so to speak, but that still doesn't mean that there isn't a reality that exists. The world according to the person with mental problems is not real

Reality is relative. It there is no existance there is no reality.
Reality is what is true and real. As opposed to what is imaginary or non existing.
One comes into the world as a result of a life creating process that was according to the design and specifications of Our Heavenly Father.

Two men looked out of prison bars
One saw the mud, the other the stars
The basic reality is the same for both men but their perception of it is different.
I think it was either Lord Byron or Tennyson who came up with the above jewel.

it is a question that will boggle us all and they will be no answer we know to be correct.
they is no god or creator. space must of been there after the bang to expand the univers into, but how do i know that space was there..... i don't but it had to be...
i do belive as the universe expands out wards it is stretching and srinking at the sides. i do belive the universe will fold in on it's self if man does not kill it's self first we will see this.
everything as a end it must it is the way it is.
life as we know must end

the one moment one jumps into the God-Jesus-etc-pit the world is no more the exciting place as before.
if one tends to believe an old book more than a million challenging things the world must get black and white for those.
why should one vote for creationism ?
because a flat earth was easier to understand ?

Sounds like you're ready for 20th century philosophy, starting, perhaps with logical positivism.
