Yes, I always feel they must have an ulterior motive for putting it in that order. For instance if I said, I am listing my friends "in no particular order," the first ones I list would be the ones who came into my mind first, and that would be in an order. We are human and can't help doing that.

Yes. But I take what they say in the order they say it in. If it is written I read it in the order it is written from left to right or vertically from top to bottom.
