You know, if you believe in the country you live in, and its laws, you should get over yourself and participate.
Would you rather we switched to a judicial system where you do not have the advantage of a trial by jury? Do you think none of this applies to you?
I think that you are being selfish and inconsiderate. Sorry, but you asked.
And yes, they can track you down and serve a warrant.

In some localities the sheriff or one of his deputies will come out and pick you up and deliver you before the presiding judge. In others, they may not. You can use the excuse before the judge that you did not receive the jury notice and it may work. In our area, this excuse was used when the skipping juror tried it so the judge personally, hand delivered a jury summons for the following week.
Just go. Get it over with. It is a boring pain in the butt but it is your civic duty and, theoretically, all eligible citizens are similarly afflicted.

They can issue a bench warrant for your arrest. However, what will happen first is one of two things:
1-they figure your not at that address anymore and give up on you, or
2- they send a second letter, of intent,( the intent is to issue the warrant).
The second happened to my father because he owns his house, and they know it. They know he lives there.
Usually if you never answered one before, this is your first, and you don't answer, they give up. Once you answer one from that address they know your there. A lot of people I know didn't answer their first and were never bothered again.
Me on the other hand answered the first one and have gotten jury duty ever four years ever since. Well until I moved. I haven't heard from them since I moved, and that was over four years ago(but not much more). But since it was a few years before moving. I'd say it's been about 7 years now since I've had it. And I would say I've gotten from my old address 5 times over the years there.

You will be issued a bench warrant requiring that you appear before the court to explain your failure to appear for jury duty.
Ignoring that notice will result in one being hand delivered by a very polite but very insistant law enforcement officer.
Good luck in court.

In most states, the court can put an attachment out for your arrest. Followed by heavy fines. If your notice to appear is from District or Federal Court then your looking at a lot stiffer fines and possible jail time.

If you can't appear then go the clerk of court and tell them why, they may excuse you. If you fail to appear you will be in trouble, I think contempt of court. Just because you received a notice does not mean you serve. They go through lots of people and just let them go, then you are done. I on the other hand did serve. It was not that bad.
If I was you I would be sure to go.

If the notice was mailed to you at your address of record, then you are presumed to have received it and you would need to prove that you had not.
What happens is that you are listed as having violated the law. And depending on the state, a warrant may be issued. At the very least, you would probably be fined.

Depends on the court and how hard they enforce people showing up. Could be nothing or it could be jail. It's not up to them to prove you got the notice. It's up to you to prove that you didn't get it. Just show up!!!! The government does a lot of things for people. Isn't it time you gave something back ?
