reno is a very small town in the desert surrounded by mountains with horrible winters. i lived there for a year and got stuck in a snowstorm for a week and it tore down the carports in our apartments. we couldnt go anywhere without chains on our tires and had to get the neighbor to get us stuff from the store when he went. also in the summer the weather there made me sick because it is so dry.
it might be fun at first but reno is nothing but crappy casinos, wedding chapels, homeless people (i saw 2 different people im guessing were drug addicts laid out in the middle of the street on different occaisions) and tourists. also people there cannot drive it is ridiculous. there are tons of car accidents and good luck finding a parking space when eveyone parks sideways using up 2 spaces. i saw lots of people driving the wrong way down streets, even a cop once.
the plus side is that you're not far from lake tahoe which is awesome

To me it would be Reno because of the climate and activity. I do know that Cleveland Heights is pretty economically sound though. I think it would all depend upon whether you are going to be looking for a job or already have one (as in transferring from where you are now) and if you are planning on renting a place or buying a home.
Where are you now? Do you want someplace similar or completely different? Is it possible to visit each of these places ahead of time?
Many many factors to consider. I envy you getting to relocate but don't envy the fact that you have to make a decision.

I would go with Reno. It's a fun filled place. But you have to love the sun.

Nevada is a right to work state, so if your not professional be prepared for the low wages. Tahoe being less than an hour away is great and then there is the casinos.
