Why does their front office never call me for help? I just offered some Twins fan Thorman, Woodward, and Soriano for Johan Santana. You want a prospect -- we can afford to give up Scotty T., a legit .290, 35, 100 prospect, as long as (and I will continue to preach this on Yahoo Answers) we freakin' move Salty to 1st base. It's not difficult. Our bullpen is decent, not great, but your right that we need a quality starter. Will Hampton come back healthy? Don't know, and besides, the Mets are ripe for picking as we speak. I'd hate to see us become like the Yanks, headhunting players for 2 months out of the season and the playoffs. That's not real baseball. (Somebody forward this to Steinbrenner.)
Sophia, calm down. I'm trying to fix the Braves here, not necessarily help anyone else. Basically, I'm trying to get rid of Woodward for anybody. And maybe I'm biased, but Scotty has a bigger upside than you think -- he'd probably be a better fit in the AL where nobody cares if a 1B can field their position. So, nobody in their right mind would make the deal, but a little temporary insanity could help ATL (lol).

The Braves will probably make a move for a pitcher. Unfortunately for them, there is no one worth having. The best pitcher who might be on the market is Dontrelle Willis, but its highly unlikely the Marlins will trade him in-division. The Braves might make a run at Matt Morris if he goes on the market.
Of course, it really doesn't matter. They won't make the playoffs unless they pick up an ace (if even then), and there are none to be had.
And Herfinator, why would anyone in their right mind trade Johan Santana for a mediocre prospect, an average reliever and a poor bench player?

These people saying they are looking to get rid of Andruw Jones have no idea what they are talking about. Andruw has a no trade clause, and has ALREADY said he WOULD NOT WAIVE IT. They won't and can't get rid of Andruw this year. The Braves are desperately looking to add a starter. The names I keep hearing are Kyle Loshe, Jose Contreras, Javier Vasquez and Dontrelle Willis. There are simply no legit #1 or #2 starters out there that are available. The Braves are definately in a position to add any of those guys. The question is...will they? Everyone is wanting either Escobar or Saltalamachia in return, and the Braves don't want to give either of them up. It will come down to the Braves decision to keep them or not.

I think that they will. I believe they have to if they want to make the playoffs. They could definetely use some pitching in general. Basically, Smoltz is the only guy with Carlyle and James doing well lately.

they have to if they want to beat the mets or at least win the wild card. they have to get someone to pitch in the number 5 spot at least. smoltz, hudson, chuck james, carlyle is a pretty good top 4 only with james and carlyle being unpredictable but kyle davies is awful. they have got to add someone. i would like to see them get jose contreras, matt morris, or dontrelle willis to put in the number 3 role.
GO BRAVES!!!!!!

I think they will make a move. I think they will move to Iowa because that is where the Braves belong in the middle of nowhere!

It is likely they could, they are in the chase and if they felt a move would help them get to the playoffs they will do it.
