the moon is orbiting the earth, the earth orbits the sun so that means the moon is orbiting the sun as well otherwise we would leave it behind in space.

The moon revolves around the earth, which in turn revolves around the sun. If the sun disappeared, the earth would stop circling it, but the moon would still be moving because it circles Earth, not the sun.
We get eclipses when the moon is in between the sun and the earth. That is caused by the moon revolving around EARTH, not by the moon revolving around the sun.

Technically speaking,No.If a smaller object were to revolve around the bigger one, the revolution shoud be on its own effort based on mutual attraction.This is not so in this case.The moon is carried by the earth around the sun and if suddenly the earth stops its revolution around the sun, the moon will be circling around the earth only as the force of attraction between the moon and the earth is more than that of the sun and the moon.

Sun- Moon relativity = The trajectory of the moon relative to the sun follows a cycloidal oscilliatory motion superimposed on an elliptical orbit of the Earth.

So the Moon is considedered to revolve around the Sun in aprox 13 oscilliatory cycles which we call months.

No. The moon revolves around a certain point called the barycenter, (not the center), of the earth. The earth revolves around the sun. When the earth is between the sun and moon, we see a full moon, and when the moon is between the sun and the earth, there is a new moon.

the moon revolves around the earth, and the earth revolves around the sun. So ur answer could be both ways. It could be no because it doesnt technically revolve around the sun. But it could be yes because it revolves around a body that revolves around the sun.

indirectly. the moon is our earth's satellite, which means it revolves around the earth. and as the earth revolves around the sun, then the moon, in a way, also moves around the sun.

Well, yes, indirectly, making about 12 little loops as it does so once in a year. But it's more accurate to say that the moon revolves around Earth, and is carried along with Earth as Earth revolves around the sun.
