does a blazer with electric ignition have pionts and if so how do fix them its popping

Try a tune up for the POP backfire but those engines had problems with the cam shaft lobes wearing off so you may want to check that if all else fails. If the pop noise is through the intake ck the cap rotor and wires as well as the ignition timing. then pull the valve covers and ck the valve lift.

it doesnt. inside the distributor it has a magnetic pick up, an ignition module and a vacuum advance. if it is popping check the tune as mentioned above. if you are sure the wires, plugs, cap and rotor are good, check the ignition timing, then suspect a valve issue. you didnt mention where it was popping through....i.e. through the exhaust or carb

no points electronic ignition been that way since the 70s

no points .. try a fresh dist. cap and rotor also suspect bad plug wires

sounds like timing is off, there are no points on that vehicle.
