Take the logarthm of both sides:

xlog(3) = (1/2)log(3)
x = 1/2

3^x=√3

√3 --->can be written as 3^(1/2)

3^x = 3^(1/2)

They now have the same base and the 3's can be taken out, simply. The exponents drop down to either side of the equal sign. Use logarithm only if the bases are different. :)

x = 1/2

Just square both sides to get
3^(2x) = 3 = 3^(1).
Take the logarithm of each side
2x log 3 = 1*log 3
2x = 1
x = 1/2.
