Well this years is over. I assume you know that, but next year I highly doubt that there will be one ran. F1 wants to charge Indy 30 mil to run the race there next year, that's double what they charged this year. It's insane. I doubt that any track would pay that much, so it may be a few years before it comes back to the U.S. Maybe when the F1 bigwigs get their heads back on straight.

At this point in time, the 2007 event has already been run, and there are no plans for any future US F1 events. Formula 1 does not need America to be successful, and America doesn't need F1 either. The long list of failed F1 events over the years should be proof of this, not my opinion. I'd like to see F1 go to Road America, or someplace scenic, like Watkins Glen, but it's doubtful that will ever happen. Bernie Ecclestone keeps raising the price to play, and many people would rather not pay anymore.

There isn't going to be a USGP in the near future unless Steve Wynn and Bernie manage to strike a deal for a street race on the strip in Vegas, which is *extremely* unlikely given the revenue loss each of the casinos would take from shutting those roads down for 4 days.

Oh, and all of you who want to see the USGP return to Watkins Glen? Francois Cevert and and Helmut Koinigg would like to have a word with you.

I would have to say that while it looks like No F1 in the USA in 2008, not so long ago there was apparently no chance of F1 going back to Magny-Cours in 2008 and yet this week Bernie Ecclestone has backtracked on that decision. Who knows, maybe he's capable of backtracking on the Indy decision.

im hoping they wase up and do the event in either vegas or long beach some place where there is still glitz and glamour in usa, though i admit the long beach circuit is a mess, or even better id like to see the us race be part of the indy 500 i know its pipe dream, but how awsome would it be to see f1 rocketing around the oval at top speed leaving penski and ganassi in the dust
