I auditioned for an acting role over a week ago, and they said they'd get back to SOME of us by phone before the following Thursday.
They called me on Tuesday, and told me all about the company, asked me how I felt about the role, and said they'd get back to me in the next few days.
My friend also auditioned and got the phone call and they told him it'd be Fri-Mon.
It's now Sunday and I've not heard anything and tomorrow is the last day for them to call me...
Judging by the way their first phone call went, I'd say it was promising, but I'm absolutely killing myself waiting to hear as I really want the job and I don't know what I'll do if they don't call me tomorrow - they already said not to call the office as they are very busy.
Help :(

If they have said not to call them, its just a case of waiting isn't it - the time deadline hasn't gone past yet so just keep your fingers crossed
Good luck and I hope you get the part

There could be a million reasons why they are not calling, and I bet most of them have nothing to do with you!
They are busy... things get slowed down all the time.
The best thing to do after an audition (good or bad) is to walk it off, forget about it, and then be happy if and when they call.
The fact that they called once is a very good thing, if they were not into you, they would not have called!
Don't worry about the time line they gave you, if anything drop (in the old fashioned snail mail) a short, simple , hand writen thank you note, that says: Thanks for giving me the oppurtunity to audition for you, I had a lot of fun!
This will be a nice follow up without being too pushy or annoying. If anything they will keep you in mind for other projects.
I know the times I have directed I always liked this.
Good Luck!

That's acting ! If at first you dont succeed , try , try and try again . You have to be very persistent to make a successful career . Audition everywhere , find out whats going on at the film and television studios . Never mind the acting , the more you are seen the better . In time casting directors will find your face familiar , think they know you and prefer to cast people they know . The more you get around selling yourself the better , it's a lot of hard work . Good Luck !!!

Definitely do not call them. They already asked you not to and you would spoil your chances by doing that. Instead, you need to find a way to occupy your time. Go out with your friend. He's probably in the same position you are. See a movie, go dancing ... anything to keep you busy so you're not looking at the phone going crazy!
Good luck!

I think your profession has special challenges for the beginner level. A movie takes all kinds of thought to become real life. It's as much by accident that you fit the concept of the directors as it is by special skills. I would say put yourself in their position trying to make the movie. It is a big challenge for them to make reality from someone's writings. Being fair is not even on the horizon as the work.

It is very difficult knowing, you may think you have got the part but you haven't or think you haven't got the role but you have.
The best thing to do is wait and just forget about it! Good Luck. Email me if you ge the part!

Never get too excited about what casting people tell you. They always say nice things about you, they always say they will call or get back to you. You have to learn that this is sop, and relax and keep auditioning.

Would you have to pay a fee if they took you on?
If so, forget it. It`s a scam.
