Why should anyone give you that for free? Buy the streaming software and start it up. You'll also have to pay royalties on any music, or get permission from the artists to use it for free.

I thought your question was cool so checked up on Wikipedia.
I found out that some of the methods of streaming music online included: SHOUTcast service, which utilizes Winamp and the SHOUTcast DSP plugin to deliver MP3 audio at higher bitrates. Streamcast and MuSE, and patent-free data formats such as Ogg Vorbis. Broadwave which delivers audio in mp3 and relies on the listener's default media player to open the stream.
There are other open source alternatives like Icecast and Xiph.org, which include Ogg Vorbis streamings that can be P2P clients.
I'm betting if you start with these you could find a reliable cost free alternative.

Indeed, you'll need to pay the PRS for the use of artists music. You must keep a record of all the tracks you play on air so you can pay the right amount of money. You will also need a licence!

It won't ensue, because of the fact its no longer saving contemporary coustomers any funds! And it wont save any destiny coustomers any funds the two. additionally many Senitors are against the merger that's great for the FCC. i think of the prospect of the merger is 30%. I vote No merger! i do no longer choose to take heed to Sirius's undesirable programming on XM!

http://www.shoutcast.com/ lets people broadcast, but I don't know all the specifics about it. Maybe if you visit their forums you'll get the answers you're looking for.
