There are very many cities that are holy to some people. For me it will always be Kyyiv, where my people's church started in 988. For others it mught be Jerusalem, Mecca, Bethlehem, Salt Lake City, Lhasa, etc etc.

I am not going to name a holy city from the scriptures of my religion as that becomes predictable and therefore very boring! I think Bethlehem is the holiest city in the world. Bethlehem is the symbol of peace, hope and optimism for all the peoples of the world.

Makkah in Saudi Arabia only could be deemed the holiest city in the world.
It was here som 4,000 years ago Propphet Abraham and his first son, Ishmael were ordered by God to build a House for Him on earth, It is preserved till date. Millions of Muslims throng here during the Haj season every year.
The house of God is inside the Big Mosque in Makkah, where thousands of Muslim boys, girls, men amd women pray
round the clock. There is serenity and peace. The spirituality consideration overweighs all other cinsiderations. Hence, the city is free from all types of crimes. Those who spent some time there yearn to go back!

Mecca for sure Not because it is revered by the Muslims but because it has been mentioned in the Old Testament too ...that too by its old name BACCA
Psalms 84 v 4-7
4: Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
5: Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6: Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7: They go from strength to strength, every one of them

The same Name Bacca has been mentioned in the Qur'an Chapter 3 verse 96
96 - The first house (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: full of blessing and of guidance for all the worlds..

Further even in the Hindu scriptures it has been mentioned as the Kuntap in the Kuntap Suktas...
In the 20th book of Atharvaveda Hymn 127 Some Suktas (chapters) are known as Kuntap Sukta. Kuntap means the consumer of misery and troubles. Thus meaning the message of peace and safety and if translated in Arabic means Islam.
Kuntap also means hidden glands in the abdomen. These mantras are called so probably because their true meaning was hidden and was to be revealed in future.
Its hidden meaning is also connected with the navel or the middle point of this earth. Makkah is called the Ummul Qur’a the mother of the towns or the naval of the earth. In many revealed books it was the first house of Divine worship where God Almighty gave spiritual nourishment to the world.
Thus Kuntap stands for Makkah or Bakkah.
Further it has been mentioned as the village of Sambhala where the Antim rishi( Kalki Avatar) was to be born in the house of the chief of the Sambhala
