Not at all. When I was doing in-home service for Circuit City, trying to explain how to work the picture in picture, I learned that rather than waste my time telling the adult how to do it, I would enlist the younger members of the house. They picked it up far more easily than the adult. Then, I could leave knowing I wouldn't have to come back and explain it twelve more times. Let the kid teach the adult how to do it.
The reason for this is simple... the older we get, the harder it is to learn stuff. We call it old timer's disease. Welcome to the club.

I don't have a child, however my niece has had to explain what some slang meant to me. And I couldn't download music without help from her.
She is older than six, so I felt like a little less of an idiot.
Your six year old must be adorable and smart too.

I had to show my mum how to use the computer and her cell phone. One day right after she got her phone I changed the language to spanish before she went to work. It drove her crazy!! It was hilarious. She works with people that speak spanish and they couldn't figure it out either. So she had to wait like 30 minutes for customer service to help her. I also put a funny ringtone on her phone. When she went to church it started ringing and since she didn't recognize the ringer she kept looking around to see who it was.

I did that all the time to my mom. I taught her how to use the microwave, the refrigerator and the remote when we moved. And numerous things on the computer.

Knowledge of how to use remotes is written into my Y-Chromosome, along with how to avoid asking for directions ...
