When you compare his stats to Pujols this season, he is very close. He has had less at bats, yet he is closing in on RBI's and homeruns. He has more strikeouts and batting avg. a little lower.

Sure, if he stays healthy and sees more playing time. He is getting better in left everyday. I expect him to hit the longball more and more. He is hitting off of leftys more too. He has talent!

Chris Duncan will make it to the All-Star game. He may not make it as many times as others but he has been given the chance to show he can play. Right now his hitting is keeping him in the line-up. His outfield play has been suspect for awhile but he has made some good plays.
People aren't being fair comparing Duncan with Pujols. Some players career begin faster than others. Chris happens to be one that took a little longer. Give him time. The Cardinals stuck with him. I will, too.

Real baseball aficionados remember the first 7-years Sandy Koufax was in the Majors he had a 54-53 record. After expansion in 1962 he took off and finished his career 157-85 and he's in the Hall-of-Fame.

You cant even think of Pujols as a HOF player this early in his career.

EDIT: Some of you think a Hall of Fame career can be predicted in a few years. It cant be. You have to play at LEAST ten years before you can even be considered. There have been so many guys who were "projected" to be HOF players who didnt even come close that projecting guys isnt fair to them. Don Mattingly was a shoe in. So was Thurman Munson. And Jose Canseco. And Albert Belle. And countless others. Things happen over the course of a career. That's why they dont vote for guys when they are still playing and wait five years for the dust to settle on a guy's career.

He is a better player than many thought he would be, including me. I believe he will be a very good player and will have some very good seasons, but he is certainly no Albert Pujols. It would not surprise me to see him on some future all-star squads.

of course, he can be the future all-star. But he has the problems that he's not very good at outfield as has only tough at infield. He need to improve to defense in his outfield. He has the errors at last year's World Series.

not unless he speeds his bat up, he seems like not much more than a slugger at this point and youre gonna have to do better than that to beat the current crop of power hitters
