Tienamen Square. He was crossing against the light.

But seriously, he had just had enough. Thomas Jefferson said, "One man with courage is a majority". Be thankful this is America and we don't have tanks rolling down our streets against our own people. These tanks were heading for a gathering of dissidents (that's anti-government protesters). This man stood in front of the tanks and essentially asked the soldiers inside, "What would your Mother's think?" ((proof once again that Mother's guilt trips are stronger than Army discipline no matter what country)). But really, that was his message to them and damned if it didn't work. Amazing isn't it?

A person who did not preach but acted. Actions speak louder than words.

A man ready to die for his convictions, to defend his people.

A courageous man - which does not mean without fear -.

A leader. Ready to set an example to maybe ?? hopefully thinking that his compatriots will follow suit.

A man so mad and furious at the cruelty and injustice of it all does actually makes the point. Defenseless, like Ghandi..

" I am a simple man, I am not even trying to harm you, I have now weapons nor camouflage, you can see my face and stare at my eyes......you hide in that big engine, anonymously, following orders whether you like them or not, I would rather make my point and my choice....am just one of those billions....you already have killed so many without mercy; unware..stabbing them back in the back..but I am here facing you......do you dare ??"

Does a single person's voice and stance can change history ? I don't think he thought so at the time..

He did....

Hey they all stopped to let the little fellow cross the street. Hell the army has learned some manners. Good show fellows.

I think that it is scary, intimidating. It makes me wish that the war was over, and that our troops were home safe. It makes me think that these people in other countries have a long struggle to gain democracy and freedom.
