Animal clinics are just a fancy name for a vet. An animal hospital is where you would take your animal if it was hit by a car or something. It's for emergencies or operations that your average everyday vet clinic could not handle. They are kind of like a people hospital with an operating room and everything. An animal clinic is where you would take your animal if it was sick or for something minor like that. Hope that sheds some light for ya!

An animal clinic is somewhat limited to superficial treatment for rather minor illnesses and injuries.

An animal hospital is far more able to diagnose and treat major problems, especially internally. They have very sophisticated equipment to do this, much like human hospitals.
Usually one must be sent to an animal hospital by a vet. They do not take walkins.

Here in Houston, TX. there is a three story animal hospital. On one floor they treat injuries such as broken bones. On another thay treat known or diagnosed diseases. On another they treat internal medicine.
I had a 5 lb. poodle and had to take her there. She spent a week undergoing diagnosis. One side of her heart had stopped functioning and her other organs were failing. You know what we had to do.
The equipment is extremely sophisticated.

President Bush, First, had his dog there and they saved his life. I saw the letter of appreciation sent by him.
