What are they hiding? These are Americans who need our protection.

Mark Steyn: Look who's holding hostages again

How do you feel about the American hostages in Iran?

No, not the guys back in the Seventies, the ones being held right now.

What? You haven't heard about them?

Odd that, isn't it? But they're there. For example, for two months now, Haleh Esfandiari has been detained in Evin prison in Tehran. Unfortunately, the mullahs say it's an obvious cover for a Bush spy.

Among the other Zionist-neocon agents currently held in Iranian jails are an American journalist, an American sociologist for a George Soros-funded leftie group, and an American peace activist from Irvine, Ali Shakeri, whose capture became known shortly after the United States and Iran held their first direct talks since the original hostage crisis.

Last week, the Iranians paraded their U.S. hostages all over TV as they confessed to engaging in espionage. . . Steyn

It appears that they DO get news coverage. See my links.

However, many foreign-born Americans are still claimed by their country of birth as citizens. As such, when they are on the soil of their birth nation, they are beyond the reach of the US Government, public or press. This is why so many articles say "They knew what they were getting in to".

Changing nationality has pitfalls, and this is one.

this doesn't fit the liberal agenda.

the Iranian people are subject to arrest, torture and killed for criticizing the government. aren't we glad we do live here. we can call our leaders any name in the book and not get killed.

Iran is a real threat to the stability of the middle-east. those in power now are paranoid religious nut jobs.

here is a link to prove my point.

There are two factors in play here.
First, look at the names of the "hostages" they are Arab names. Their lives mean very little to the U.S government.
The second factor is summed up in one word......censorship. The American media are "restricted" in what they can publish, and what kind of images they can disseminate.

Most of America's media are Canadians and have no clue what America is all about. Just like mike more, clueless leaches.
Any one that supports the actions of Iran is a traitor and no better than navel lint.

Just because someone is arrested doesn't make them a hostage....

Or do you consider the 400+ people detained by the US at Gitmo to be hostages as well....

And if you read the news report, then someone is covering the story.

It doesn't fit their "Blame America First" template.

They shouldn't have gone in the first place. Why did they go? they knew the risks.
