Are they -
- realised
- still intact, but left behind
- changed, because they are just that:dreams and ideals, not
reality
- still dreams and ideals, to be realised nonetheless

What would be dreams and ideals for matured people to achieve?

Thanks, matured citizens.

My dreams and ideals are ongoing and still being fulfilled, especially now.

This life has been a GREAT learning experience and now I am able to put those experiences to good use.

The dreams of the young are, many times, not realized because of the fantasy The work ethic involved in training and the day to day grind seem to overwhelm many of the young. Therefore, these dreams change for us as we go through life.

I have always wanted to write a book for Seniors, and now I am in the process of doing just that. I have the time that I need to do it well and it's from my own perspective. Even if nobody buys a copy, I will have the dream fulfilled. But, hopefully, some will buy and have their lives enriched in one way or another. This is my ultimate achievement while I'm here on earth.

Selfish? Maybe. But who knows how many can be helped, or just be given a laugh.

Some of my dreams have been realized...more haven't. As we grow and change, our dreams need to change along with us.

Some of those dreams, if realized, would have made me a totally DIFFERENT person than the one I am today. I can only surmise that those dreams were left behind BECAUSE I personally needed to be exactly where I am today.

As to my ideals...they have never really changed. They have become more enriched over the years, more layered and refined, but they have not changed. They are what I try to follow in judging what I am going to do with my life, what choices I make for myself.

So I guess my short answer to you is...My dreams have changed with me, but my ideals are still intact and functioning well.

I don't remember having either! I just seemed to go with the flow. I DID want to live on a commune with John Bryant, my first love who is still in my heart, but I was too young & too scared of my Mother. Add to that, stoned out of my gourd, & I guess you could say I was confused! I should have jumped on the back of his Mototcycle & never looked back. It sucks doing the "right thing"! Who knows what would have happened to us. After almost 40 years, I still wonder what happened to him & his buddy Mike. We were young & had so many dreams of living in complete freedom! So, I guess I did have dreams after all...thanks for the memories. Great question! It got my mind to kick into a place that I had forgotten about!

Ah, yes...the dreams of youth. .. so misleading, so impractical. I think that, no matter what the dream, it was an attempt to buy happiness...and our lives change drastically along the way. Any life the results in happiness is a dream come true, isn't it? Basically, I am happy. I am NOT the MD I wanted to be in youth (thankfully).

I have achieved a few, changed a few and let a few fall by the wayside. I've also taken on a whole new set... some within the realm of the possible, a couple within the realm of probable, and a few within the realms of no way Baby!!!

the ones I had when I was younger went by the wayside because as I grew older my thoughts and ideas changed from material to spiritual.
