He was physically abusive with Shelly,but has not been like that with Tracy or Maria.Abusive men hardly ever change unless they get some form of therapy.What gives?

I know hes emotionally abusive,I just find it odd that he isn't physically abusive with Tracy or Maria.

All I can say to that is not yet. She'll do something to tick him off and I'm sure we will see him get physical with her too. He's a loose cannon that one.

He is more of an emotional abuser, and was only physical when Shelly talked back to him. He has done the same with Tracy, but she is a push over and too needy. He is trying the same thing with Maria now, but he is still working on her. He gets away with murder, and I hope David rats on him. I thought Liam was going to punch his lights out for sure!!

He's a snake and emotionally abusive. I think he's got a huge temper, and would be physical again if 'pushed'.
There are MANY men like Charlie in the real world, unfortunately. Maria should run away very fast....

You missed it when he threw Tracy up against the wall for lying about the abortion.
And I think the only reason he was never like that with Maria was because he has never had to be...she does everything he wants!
Don't worry about Charlie Stubbs - He is about to die - Tracy kills him after she finds out about Maria

Possible because Shelly was weaker. Tracy and Maria were different, especially Tracy. Tracy was as bad as he was, that's why he couldn't do anything to her.

Are you watching Coronation Street from outside the UK. That story line was months and months ago. Do you know the outcome?
I agree, #Charlies character is a bit far fetched.

it is realistic, he has roughed up Tracy and mentally abusing Maria
