My favorite birth control is copper IUD (paragard). You know why? Here is the list of the things I love about my IUD.

1. I love my IUD because it doesn't have hormones and it has no side effects

2. I love my IUD because it can stay up to 10-12 years and I don't have to worry about anything.

3. I love my IUD because it is invisible and nobody can tell that I'm using it.

4. I love my IUD because there's nothing to remember except to check the strings once a month.

5. I love my IUD because sex can be spontaneous and there is nothing to place before sex like condoms.

6. I love my IUD because it is so effective. It is more effective than the pill, patch, nuvaring etc.

Ive heard such nasty stuff about the deppo. I liked the diane-35 it was great for acne and PMS symptoms, although my new doctor tooked me off of it cause more research was done and it is at a high risk for causing blood clots. I didnt like the Tryclene I was on that before the Diane-35 and it caused me to be so EMOTIONAL!! But the doctor did put me on Tryclene Lo - and I have had not any problems with it what so ever hardly and cramps or nothing like that.

You should consider using the Nuva Ring. I wish I had found it years ago. I could never remember to take the pill every day. So we just used condoms yuck! finally my doctor told me about the Nuva ring. you only have to remember every 3 weeks. You insert this round plastic(?) thing inside, once its in you do not feel it at all! Then after 3 weeks you take it out for 1 week ( this is when you start you period) then after your 1 week you put another in for 3 more weeks. Its so easy. I love it. Ive always had problems with the pill, either didn't remember to take it or would bleed on and off all the time. I think you should try it.

I choose abstinence and it's worked so far (LOL)

If you are concerned about forgetting to take a pill, choose condoms and spermicide because these can be used at the last minute.

When the Deppo shot came out, I discussed it with my gyno and the part about either not bleeding at all or bleeding all the time came up. He told me that the safest was still the pill.

My best advice is to research every type of BC out there and then have a discussion with your gyno.

you should look into the Intra Uterine Devices (IUDs) they have a high success rate and no need to remember to take a pill.

there are also the female barrier methods (Diaphragm, FemCap, and Lea's Shield) you use them with spermicide and have no hormones so are safe to use when breast feeding. you can also insert them hours before intercourse, so they dont interupt "the moment." they can be left in for a total of 24-48 hours (depending on the type you get) and your husband (or bf) can leave himself inside you even after ejaculating.

i hate hormonal birth control, and hope this answer helps you :)

speak with your health care provider about these other options, i am sure they will be more than helpful :)

I've had the pill, the nuvo ring, and the IUD: I liked the IUD best because I didn't have to think about it or remember to take anything daily or weekly, it lasts for years and it was the most carefree of all the methods.
