Go to START >>> CONTROL PANEL >>> MOUSE

Look for Device Settings (Or Synaptics) then you should see Sensativity at the bottom of the left pane (or you have to select the pad then click settings depending on version of touchpad). It also has tons of other settings to make your touchpad more fine tuned to your liking.

Well, I'm not sure about that, but one thing u can do is go to the control panel,-> mouse, and click. Then from there, turn off the mouse pad. If u have toshiba, hold the Fn key, and one of the F keys on the top that has a grey picture of a mouse pad

Download the drivers from synaptics and it will install a utility which will allow you to turn off the "tap click" function

Right click the symbol for it in the bottom toolbar (usually right hand side) and reduce the speed and sensitivity.
