firstly, i am confused if a-levels in the UK is the same as high school or is GCSE in the UK the same as high school in the US????
I have done my a-levels in the UK and i want be a dentist. what are the procedure for being a dentist in the USA??

High school is equivalent to secondary school 'O-Level'. 'A-Level' is beyond high school at you can get credit when you go to university (in US, they say college)...so you take a few less class. After 'O-Level', you can go straight to college to do pre-medical school...which is like major in Biology, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry. Then you go to medicine school to be medical doctor or dentist.

I think both the GCSEs and the A-Levels are equivalent to high school. Your senior year (in American terms--it's the last year of high school) would probably be the year you take the A-Level exams (but not AS Levels).
If you have your A-Level exams done, I think you just apply to American universities and get an undergraduate degree. You will need certain math, science, and English courses to get into dental school (check these out on Medical School Websites (in America)). Usually, you apply early in your senior year (or even in the summer before your Senior Year)to Dental School. You take the DAT (a test) in the early Spring. After you finish up you get your acceptance, then you go to Dental School for four years. .

high school diploma in the USA is closer to GCSE I think.
certainly not A-level equivelent.
I have no idea how one goes about becoming an American dentist though ,sorry.
