This is from a 2005 newspaper article (website below): 'Australian kangaroos are a popular delicacy in some of the finest restaurants in France and Germany. They are stocked on British supermarket shelves and are even used in Russian sausages. We export to over 60 countries .........' (I believe it's also used in petfoods). The same article tells us that 1.2million kangaroo were to be culled in New South Wales during 2005 and: 'The kangaroo industry employs 4000 people nationally - half of whom are hunters - and is worth $200 million a year.'

Yes, and sometimes without knowing it. There was a scandal in the US a few years ago where the "Jack in the Box" restaurants were passing off kangaroo meat as beef.

I bought kangaroo steaks from Tesco about 15 years ago - and they were delicious! I can't understand why they don't sell them anymore!

Had a texture and a (very mild) flavour of fillet steak - went very well with salad and quails eggs.

Actually, when we went to Australia, we didn't get any Kangaroo to eat at all!

I would love to know where to buy it in the UK.

It seems as though the word kangaroo should be more fitting to be called kangaroo in plural. Something about it sounds as awkward as saying "sheeps."

Eating Kangaroos is not such a bad idea. There are millions of them. They breed like rabbits. Or maybe rabbits breed like kangaroos.

I've never tried it, is it good? Sounds like a great Idea, I bet it tastes like rabbit. Don't Australians kill kangaroos like flys? Why not export the meat...
