back on the time display is 2 hours off ......... This has happened 4 or 5 times ........ any ideas.........

That is a totally new one on me.

I suspect your clock is shutting down at some point--unless your time is jumping ahead. Do you leave the computer plugged in at night? You might try unpluggin it once it has charged up. It's possible you might be getting a power spike somewhere that is affecting your CMOS settings. Usually that will result in the CMOS going to default settings. Since the time setting has no default that could simply be jumping to another time zone or just changing times.

I have to confess I am much more knowledgeable about desktop computers than laptops. If you have a good laptop service center you might ask them. Chances are it's a reasonably common problem and others have experienced it too.
