This is a very complicated process. If you are not electronically and mechanically inclined I would not try this yourself. you have to remove the airbag as well as the anti theft ignition electronics.
My bonneville also had controls for the stereo running through the Steering column and cruise control components.

Is this part of your other post of things staying on without the key on? I believe your ignition switch (not the key part) is at the bottom of the steering column above the brake pedal. Is this a tilt column? Could be a stuck rod in the column. Here`s a place to look for a used one.http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

Not a simple job, especially if it has a drivers side air bag. Go buy a manual for your vehicle or visit the local library. Its way to detailed to try and explain here.
