If a heavily financed group such as the pharmaceutical industry used their money to influence legislation such as Bush’s Medicare Prescription Act that transferred huge sums of taxpayers’ money to the pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies, that is not in the best interests of the most Americans.
The drug companies and insurance companies spent tens of millions of dollars lobbying for this bill. They got what they wanted.

All "Interest Groups" do not reflect my beliefs. One might not like the NRA or the Pro-Choice movement. Moveon.org is a socialist machine that has even threatened to rally against certain Democratic candidates if they don't spew their agenda. That could be devastating to that candidate and would remove another choice for the American people as a whole.

The primary interest group in this country is people who are interested in making more money. To do this is to invest in a paid lobbiest or many paid lobbiests. this is how our country got to be.
"Our Country of the dollar, by the dollar and for the dollar."
The best way to solve this is to make it against the law to PAY a lobbiest.
The lobby is fine but should not be driven by capital. This is conflict of interest at it's worst.

"Birds of a feather, flock together." If a group of Mormons sued the state of Utah to let them continue to practice polygamy, would that be in the best interest of the country ?
If the myriad of Muslims in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area sued the city to allow them to collectively have prayer time when the bells rang, and every cab in the county came to a screeching halt, would that be good for the country ?
Interest groups have their own agenda that may be good for them, and to hell with everyone else !
I rest my case !

simple.
when you, say start a war for the benefit of corporate contracts, against a foe who is not a real threat to america, when a real threat does exist - you are not making decisions that are in the interest of most americans.

Look around at the mess out there.
Ever wonder who were oppressing with slavery of idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past from the graveyards of different ancestor's custom in not worshiping God without being aware of it in their own backyards.
Exodus 20.1-6,
Ever wonder why the scale of justice were lop-sided out there?
Leviticus 26.13
The blunders and slip-ups with human errors without anyone being aware being created in own backyards.
Until children were making a mess out there at loss with our creator's universal gifts of life.
